I'm Jen Tate.
I'm a bestselling co-author and award-winning documentary filmmaker.
I studied creative writing and improvisation at Stanford University.
Then I studied media and education at San Francisco State, and fulfilled a life-long dream of working at Sesame Street.
I’ve also written for CNET and Network for Good - a joint venture of AOL, Cisco and Yahoo.
I’ve served as Executive Director of the Portland Area Theatre Alliance, Producer of Doc Camp, and steward of my own documentary short, Karaoke People.
In 2019, I co-founded Oregon Media Lab with Jackie Weissman in order to extend the reach of my role as a creator and producer on a range of media projects from PSAs to feature films.
As Chief Creative Officer of Your Bestselling Book, I work alongside my long-time friend and collaborator MeiMei Fox as a ghostwriter, book collaborator, editor, writing coach, and creative strategist.
I proudly serve on the board of the Catalyst Film Collective, and have spent more than 20 years raising money for Planned Parenthood at my annual Witch Party!
And this is my dog, Disco.
